Lucknow: Loreto Convent Intermediate College successfully concluded its two-day inter-school festival, ‘Angelorum’, bringing together nearly 1,000 students from 20 leading schools across the city. The event provided a vibrant platform for young minds to showcase their creativity, innovation and talent through 20 diverse competitions spanning academics, arts, technology and cultural activities.
The festival was inaugurated on July 30 with a ceremonial lamp-lighting by Sister Christine, Head of the Loreto Institution, Principal Sister Sunila, Vice-Principal Ma’am Godin, and distinguished guests from participating schools. In her welcome address, Sister Christine encouraged students to embrace learning beyond classrooms, while a colourful cultural presentation by the host school set an enthusiastic tone for the competition.
Over the two-day event, students displayed remarkable creativity and critical thinking through competitions centred on startup ideas and advertising concepts, which drew praise from the panel of judges. Participants also competed in culinary arts, painting, debates, quizzes, instrumental and vocal music, dance, and street theatre, reflecting the growing interest of young people in creative and performing arts.
Keeping pace with emerging trends, the festival featured technology and media-based events, including robot car design and racing competitions, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate innovation and engineering skills. Competitions in visual arts, filmmaking, fashion design and a Moot Court challenge further encouraged participants to develop practical knowledge, teamwork and communication skills.
At the closing ceremony, prizes were presented to the winners. Modern Academy was declared the overall champion, while Loreto Convent Intermediate College and Seth M. R. Jaipuria School were jointly named runners-up for their outstanding performances across multiple events.
Addressing the gathering at the conclusion of the festival, Principal Sister Sunila congratulated all participants and emphasised that such inter-school events play a vital role in fostering creativity, collaboration, healthy competition and holistic personality development among students.
The organisers noted that Angelorum not only celebrated academic and artistic excellence but also served as a meaningful platform for exchanging ideas, building friendships and nurturing the leadership and life skills essential for the next generation.
